Foot Rail Installation Options
For finished existing bars:
Pre-drill the foot rail brackets and attach them to the bar front using trim screws and wood glue as shown. Be sure to keep the bracket plumb and tight to the floor.
For bars under construction using our bar front trim kits:
Pre-drill the foot rail bracket and base board, attach the bracket to the 6″ tall base board molding with wood screws and glue from the back as shown. Be sure to keep the bracket plumb and flush with the bottom of the base board molding. Install the baseboard molding with the brackets attached.
For bars under construction using our bar front fluted columns and corners:
Pre-drill the foot rail bracket and plinth block, attach the bracket to the 7″ tall plinth block with wood screws and glue from the back as shown. Be sure to keep the bracket plumb, flush with the bottom and centered on the plinth block. Install the plinth block with the bracket attached.
Installing the foot rail molding to the foot rail brackets:
The bar foot rail molding comes rabbited on the bottom and installs with the full bull nose edge out front. Keep the foot rail molding tight against the foot rail brackets, using wood glue and pin nails or round head screws to attach it from the top as shown. Be sure to pre-drill the foot rail molding if installing with screws. The foot rail molding may also be installed using dowels or screws with flush plugs over the screw heads.
